The Classic White Batik Centerpiece Tray is the perfect statement piece for your home or kitchen. Place it on your coffee table to wrangle your collection of remotes or serve up some dishes in the kitchen. Line up some ruby red apples, stack cheesy garlic bread for spaghetti dinner, or load it up with freshly glazed donuts.

Made of Kentucky dark stoneware for durability. It’s an elegant touch to your table, entertaining, or everyday use.

Gravesco Pottery is dishwasher and microwave safe! I personally prefer to hand wash my pottery. However, if you choose to use the dishwasher, I recommend placing your pots in the top rack or  where it won't vibrate or bang against other dishes.

Each piece of pottery is carefully wrapped and packed using recyclable materials (unless we are recycling packing materials we have received from someone else - nothing goes to waste) to ensure safe delivery.

The City Black Batik Mug will elevate even the simplest of comfort foods - no one will realize that your ramen was made with boiling water, not gourmet! You love gourmet ramen, too? Well, then you’re in luck.

Jason Michael Thomas has said on more than one occasion that this is his favorite mug for serving tea, lattes and soups of all kinds.

The Batik Soup Mug is microwave and dishwasher safe and although I personally prefer to hand washing my favorite pottery, you're welcome to clean your new  mug however you'd like! If you do choose to put it in the dishwasher, go with the top shelf and make sure it isn't going to rattle against another item that could potentially cause a chip.

The Batik Mug is comfortable in the hand, even when full to the brim. The wide handle is textured with an antique stamp, adding grip, while the width makes it easy to hold.

Each mug is wheel thrown then the stamped handle is added. Because of the handmade nature of the mug, each one is a little different. That's the beauty of handmade.

To learn the story behind the antique hand carved wooden stamp used on the handle, read my blog post about it.

Snuggled on the sofa in the evening with your new handmade Batik Mug filled with your favorite mac and cheese as you decide whether to catch up on some Netflix or just enjoy some music and read a bit while you gnosh - sounds like a great way to end a hectic day, right?

The Batik Mug was designed to be just the right size and shape for everything from your morning latte to your ramen lunch and evening dinner. We use them more than anything in our cupboard. If you choose to use it for soup and do the quick dash microwave heat up, it’s pretty handy that the batik stamped handle of our stoneware soup mug doesn’t get hot. If you keep yours in the freezer, it’s pretty darn handy for icecream, but I have to tell you, the handle definitely gets cold. It’s kind of nice in August, though.

Farm to Table food enthusiast, chef and urban farmer, Jason Michael Thomas has declared on more than one occasion that this is his favorite piece of pottery.

While I prefer to handwash my favourite pottery rather than let it rattle around in the dishwasher, the Batik Soup Mug is microwave and dishwasher safe. If you do choose to put it in the dishwasher, go with the top shelf and make sure it isn't going to rattle against another item that could potentially cause a chip.

The wide handle is stamped with an antique batik stamp. The texture adds grip while the width makes it easy to hold, even when it’s completely full!

Each mug is wheel thrown then the stamped handle is added. Each one is a little different - that’s the beauty of handmade.

This mug is generously sized to hold a full 12 ounce can of soup with room to spare. This makes it just the right size for soup, mac and cheese, cereal, ice cream, lattes, pasta and anything else you like to eat on the go or snuggled on the sofa.

Approximately 2" diameter and just the right size for a pinch of this and a pinch of that. These little treasures are also beautiful for sushi. We use them for rings by the sink, pills in the morning, a single decadent truffle, as salt cellars, for little add-your-own spices at dinner, tea bags, food prep when cooking and anything else that fits.

Each set contains 3 unique pieces in a single color.

While these are dishwasher safe they're small enough that it may be a challenge to keep them in the rack. If you choose to put them in the dishwasher we recommend popping them into the silverware holder.

Microwave safe.

Food safe.

Spoons have held a special spot for me since childhood. I'm not even completely  sure what it is that I love about them.  They're even higher in my esteem if handmade. The more unusual the shape or material, the better.

The handmade Signature Coffee Scoop was designed to bring a splash of texture and panache to your coffee bar and perhaps add a bit of extra joy to your coffee rituals. Don’t stop at coffee, though. The spoons are also terrific for scooping tea, sugar, herbs, spices and also make a terrific amuse bouche dish.

Each handmade spoon is assembled in my Indianapolis studio using a dark brown stoneware from a couple hours south in Louisville, Kentucky. We like to keep things local when we can. The texture on the handle is made using my fingers so it fits oh so comfortably in yours. Finally, once it’s out of the kiln and polished up, we add a whisp of natural jute for a bit of texture and to hang the spoon next to your coffee station to keep it safe between uses.

Because of the handmade nature of our handmade spoons, you’re going to get one that is like what is shown in the photo, but probably not that exact one. It will have it’s own unique characteristics that we’re confident you’re going to enjoy for years to come.

As always, remember we have $5 flat rate shipping on your entire order when shipped inside the continental United States.

Our handmade pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe, though for smaller items like this I recommend a simple and quick hand wash. The jute twine is easy to remove and put back on, though, if you do decide to run it through the dishwasher for a deep clean.

I hope you enjoy your new spoon as much as we enjoy making them.

Next to a sunny window is such a lovely spot for a touch of green in a home, studio or office. Several studies have shown that having house plants improves your focus, reduces carbon dioxide (obviously) and promotes relaxation. Detailed info on the science of house plants is a simple google search away. In the meantime, wouldn't your houseplant look even better in a handmade pot?

I've started growing grass in cute pots by the windows in our carriage house apartment because our kitties will eat any plant that is within reach. At least the grass is low maintenance and not going to cause any issues. If you have kitties, too, and want to grow some plants they shouldn't eat, you might try the hanging planters. We have some of each style in our apartment because to my thinking, you can never have too many house plants. If you can, I don't want to know what the limit is before I become a crazy plant lady.

Each planter comes with the saucer and measures approximately 4.5" across and 3.5-4" high. You may not receive the exact planter in the photo, but it will be the same style. Each one is completely unique and has its own special character.

Wondering about that tangled knot of clay sitting next to the planter with the grass? That's The Tangle. It started out as a paperweight but has become a favorite object d'art and you can find it here.

Take your pick. If you’re an espresso drinker you’ll love this little handmade stoneware cup designed with the great team over at Tinker Coffee to be just the right size and shape for a double shot of your favorite roast. It’s Tinker Coffee, right? Everyone’s favorite small batch roasted coffee is Tinker. Isn’t it? WHAT!? You’ve never had Tinker Coffee? We can remedy that! Hop over to Tinker Coffee and order a bag. You can thank me later. In the meantime...

We’ve discovered that this espresso cup also makes a fantastic succulent planter so if you were thinking you’d only order one for your coffee, you might want to rethink that decision and get one for your plant, too.

Do you need some coffee to enjoy with your new cup? You can now purchase my favorite coffee from Tinker Coffee right here!

The signature Brown Bear clay from Kentucky Mudworks (another female owned business just a couple hours from the studio in Louisville, Kentucky) adds a textural delight to your espresso experience. The silky smooth glaze is a lovely juxtaposition to the velvety feel of the exposed raw clay.

As always, Gravesco Pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe though we always recommend that you hand wash for longevity just because in the dishwasher that jet stream of water can make things bang together and chip. That said, there are several beloved pieces of pottery that I’ve owned for a decade or more that made it through regular dishwashing with no problem because I was careful to place it where it couldn’t bang around against something else.

Each cup is individually thrown on the wheel and glazed by hand so it is normal to expect variations from cup to cup. The serendipity of the process is what we love so much about handmade pottery.

Don’t forget, we offer $5 flat rate shipping on your entire order in the continental United States.
