Serving a large salad or pasta requires a special bowl. Our handmade ceramic Harvest Bowl is equally at home loaded with your favorite family recipe and ready to serve as it is on the table or counter holding five pounds of apples, your latest garden harvest or with a loaf of bread rising before it goes in the oven.
A kitchen lover's dream bowl also happens to be an interior designer's favorite. The classic white glaze on natural tan clay looks beautiful on the dinner table or the coffee table.
Each bowl is handmade on the pottery wheel by Dusty, one of our resident potters. The clay is intentionally sourced nearby from our favorite female-owned clay maker and the glaze is mixed in our studio. Every step of the process is done by hand. From the time a bowl is just a simple lump of clay to its completion, it will go through the hands of eight artisans. You know that every time you purchase pottery from Gravesco Pottery that you're supporting artisans right here in Indianapolis and suppliers in the Midwest.
Measures approximately 11" diameter and 4" high.
Microwave and dishwasher safe.

Everyday rituals can mean anything from a mug of delicious tea and a decadent truffle every evening to meditating with a cone of incense burning in a tiny dish. Whatever your everyday rituals entail, these small, hand carved bowls inspired by the goddess carvings at Gavrinis will add a special touch.
Measuring a tiny 2-2.5" in diameter, these little bowls are just the right size for a variety of things like mise en place (kitchen prep), earrings, jewelry, chocolate, a small snack, incense, holding your favorite crystal, your used tea bag and anything else you can think of.
Each bowl is handmade using our signature clay then the design is hand carved making every one unique. We make families of pots, not exact replicas, and you'll receive a gorgeous little bowl like the bowls in the photos.

There has always been something special about cloth napkins. When I was a kid they were considered extra fancy. As an adult I've banished the idea of "save it for special occasions" and use cloth napkins every day. They're easy to wash and I'm not filling trash cans with barely used paper. I have cloth napkins that are over 20 years old that we still use and love.
We chose Meema brand cotton napkins because their company is in keeping with our values. They design kitchen and home textiles with upcycled denim and cotton to be as sustainable as possible. Like us, they believe that every product should be designed for the ideal combination of joy and function with ethics at the center of it all.
Their napkins and aprons are made with fibers discarded by jeans manufacturers and yarn mills that would be discarded as waste. They give them a second life and their own waste is used by coffee growers as a natural compose, returning to the earth and continuing the cycle. Their manufacturing process uses minimal resources and energy. For every kg of upcycled material, 20,000 liters of water are saved.
It's just another reason to love using cloth napkins.

Our Large Serving Bowl - Serves side salad for 6-8 people or 2 verrrrrry hungry people.
When we have dinner at Jason Michael Thomas's farm to table events in downtown Indianapolis we always go out into the yard to pick greens for the obligatory farm to table Big Ass Yard Salad and this bowl holds enough for the entire crew. It's also terrific for fruit, pasta, and a slew of other dishes to be served family style or just fill it with a few pounds of fruit as a lovely centerpiece.
Made using regional tan clay by hand on the potter's wheel by resident potter, Ryan Vanhoy, here in our studio in Indianapolis, Indiana. Each bowl varies slightly due to the handmade nature. Those variations are to be celebrated as part of the slow making movement as they show evidence of the makers involved in the process.
