The Plague Doctor Travel Mug PRE-ORDER Feed the artists Rebecca Graves Pottery
Sale -17%
ounces ounces
$ 30.00 $ 36.00

Help us feed the artists of Indianapolis!

For every Plague Doctor Travel Mug sold we will donate $5 to a fresh food bundle from Jason Michael Thomas Urban Awareness Gardens to help feed the artists in Indianapolis that are impacted by the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Here’s how we’ll break it down:

  • $5 to feed the artists
  • $2 to the artist who designed the plague doctor image - Dustin Powell
  • $16 to employ the potters who make the mugs so we can keep them working
  • $7 to just cover the actual cost of the materials, firing and 100% silicone lid

We’re going for full transparency here. This is a passion project, not a profit project.

Enough about that. Here’s some deets about the mug. THAT’s what you really want to know, right?

Each mug holds approximately 10 ounces of your favorite beverage. The lid is 100% silicone. The handle is 100% handy and sits high enough on the mug that it will still snuggle right down into your cup holder while you drive solo through the mall parking lot wishing you could just go in and browse, blasting Careless Whisper over and over on your car stereo.

ok. In all fairness I may be projecting a little bit there.

Seriously though, the mug is sturdy enough to be used daily and will eliminate the need for all those disposable cups once you are able to go to your favorite neighborhood coffee shop for a refill again. In the meantime it makes a mean sippy cup for your favorite adult beverage or, you know, coffee.

The mug is dishwasher and microwave safe.

The image is permanent. It’s a process that requires each mug to go through 3 different kiln firings. The plague doctor will be around long after this pandemic is over.

The Plague Doctor mugs are being made to order and all orders are filled in the order in which we receive them. Order order order. Could I say order a few more times?

So whadya say? Ready to help us feed some artists?

The Artist’s Choice Mug in Pink Rebecca Graves Pottery
Sale -31%
$ 25.00 $ 36.00

You read that right. This is an artist’s choice mug selection. One of the Gravesco Pottery artists will choose a mug for you from the new Loft Collection. Each mug is unique and will be a lovely surprise in your post.

Working in a production pottery studio where we make the same forms day after day allows us to hone our skills on specific details that make our pottery identifiable as our own. At some point, though, we need to just have some fun! The Artist’s choice mugs are a fun exercise in playfulness. We start with a stack of prepared clay, all the same size, with the intent of making no two mugs exactly the same.

The purchase of an Artist’s Choice Mug will help us level up our studio. We’re calling this mission Expand The Art or #expandtheart. We need to purchase a pugmill for processing and reclaiming clay to save the potters’ wrists from wedging and also to reduce waste. Our goal is $3500 to cover the cost of making the mugs, the pugmill and the shipping. That’s only 140 mugs and with your help sharing the word, that should be a piece of cake! Every time you share on social media and tag us you’ll be entered in a drawing to win a special Artist’s Choice Serving Bowl when the goal is reached. Thank you for supporting the expansion of our studio. You are appreciated!
The #expandtheart fundraiser begins Sunday, April 26th and we’ll keep you posted on our progress over on Instagram and Facebook as well as the blog. You’re all amazing and we love the community you’re helping us create with all your support.

Each mug holds approximately 16 ounces of your favorite hot or cold beverage. They are microwave and dishwasher safe. The clay is a rich shade of tan and the glaze is a crisp white that just allows the edges of the marks in the clay to show through. Every mug has Rebecca’s signature handle that is pinched just so as it is made so your fingers rest right where hers do. It’s like holding hands but you won’t catch the cooties from it.

We appreciate that you’re about to allow us to choose a new favorite mug for you!

Each mug holds approximately 16 ounces of your favorite hot or cold beverage. They are microwave and dishwasher safe. The clay is a rich shade of tan and the glaze is a sexy black we love as a classic. It's like a pair of black slacks that go with everything (Or let's be honest, during quarantine a pair of black leggings or sweats). Every mug has Rebecca’s signature handle that is pinched just so as it is made so your fingers rest right where hers do. It’s like holding hands but you won’t catch the cooties from it.

We appreciate that you’re about to allow us to choose a new favorite mug for you!

The new Vintage Roses Travel Mug is another in the Feed The Artists collection. $5 from the sale of each Vintage Roses Travel Mug will be used to purchase a fresh food box from Jason Michael Thomas’s Urban Ag Indy Drive Up Farm Stand and paid forward to Indianapolis Artists who are economically impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The handmade pottery Vintage Roses Travel Mug is wheel thrown and goes through a total of 3 kiln firings before it is ready to ship out the door to you. The travel lid is 100% silicone and fitted tightly so that even over the years as it stretches from heat and use, it will still fit comfortably and keep the dribbles at bay.

Each mug is one of a kind. You may not receive the exact mugs in the photo but you will receive one equally lovely and unique.

Microwave & Dishwasher safe. Holds approximately 16-18 ounces of your favorite wine...errr...coffee.

Speaking of coffee, for a limited time we can create a gift bundle for you with a travel mug, handmade coffee scoop and 4 oz bag of one our favorite fresh roasts from Circadian Coffee here in Indianapolis.

$ 18.00

Spoons have held a special spot for me since childhood. I'm not even completely  sure what it is that I love about them.  They're even higher in my esteem if handmade. The more unusual the shape or material, the better.

The handmade Signature Coffee Scoop was designed to bring a splash of texture and panache to your coffee bar and perhaps add a bit of extra joy to your coffee rituals. Don’t stop at coffee, though. The spoons are also terrific for scooping tea, sugar, herbs, spices and also make a terrific amuse bouche dish.

Each handmade spoon is assembled in my Indianapolis studio using a dark brown stoneware from a couple hours south in Louisville, Kentucky. We like to keep things local when we can. The texture on the handle is made using my fingers so it fits oh so comfortably in yours. Finally, once it’s out of the kiln and polished up, we add a whisp of natural jute for a bit of texture and to hang the spoon next to your coffee station to keep it safe between uses.

Because of the handmade nature of our handmade spoons, you’re going to get one that is like what is shown in the photo, but probably not that exact one. It will have it’s own unique characteristics that we’re confident you’re going to enjoy for years to come.

As always, remember we have $5 flat rate shipping on your entire order when shipped inside the continental United States.

Our handmade pottery is microwave and dishwasher safe, though for smaller items like this I recommend a simple and quick hand wash. The jute twine is easy to remove and put back on, though, if you do decide to run it through the dishwasher for a deep clean.

I hope you enjoy your new spoon as much as we enjoy making them.

Approximately 2" diameter and just the right size for a pinch of this and a pinch of that. These little treasures are also beautiful for sushi. We use them for rings by the sink, pills in the morning, a single decadent truffle, as salt cellars, for little add-your-own spices at dinner, tea bags, food prep when cooking and anything else that fits.

Each set contains 3 unique pieces in a single color.

While these are dishwasher safe they're small enough that it may be a challenge to keep them in the rack. If you choose to put them in the dishwasher we recommend popping them into the silverware holder.

Microwave safe.

Food safe.

$5 flat rate shipping on your entire order in the Continental United States.

If you like the pasta bowls in the photos you can find it here.
