When I was in high school, my English teacher stunned the class into rare silence by turning off the lights in the classroom, standing on his desk with a flashlight beneath his face and quoting Edgar Allen Poe's The Raven. In its entirety. Here I am 30+ years later and it's still a vivid memory of learning. Because of that, ravens will always have a special place in my heart.
