Viking Drinking Horn | Handmade ceramic by Gravesco Pottery Indianapolis

$ 75.00 $ 25.00

Vikings used polished horns as drinking vessels for everyday use, celebrations and rituals. There was also a vibrant ceramics trade that provided every day wares for food and drink.

While researching historically accurate Viking era drinking vessels, I recreated several using modern clay and glazes.

While the Viking Drinking Horn was not traditionally made of clay, I love the idea of being able to clean it in the dishwasher.

Treat your favorite Viking to a handmade ceramic drinking horn. They make a perfect gift for Dad, groomsmen or anyone who loves a good beer.

Each horn is handmade on my potter’s wheel using a durable dark stoneware from Continental Clay in Minnesota, otherwise known as the land of the the Vikings, and glazed using my favorite Canvas glaze that I mix in the studio.

Holds 11-13 ounces of your favorite beverage.

Dishwasher safe when you remove the natural twine. If you choose to put yours in the dishwasher, remove the twine first and make sure the loops that hold the twine are positioned in a way they won’t knock against other dishes.
