I spent years avoiding yarn bowls because most of them were novelty over function. Then I sat down and designed exactly what I needed as a lifetime knitter and crocheter.
This bowl has real weight. It stays put when you're pulling yarn at speed, mid-row, half-focused on your pattern. The cutout is smooth enough that your yarn glides through without catching or fraying. Pull from the left. Pull from the right. Either side works.
The clean black glaze has that warm, tactile finish that complements natural fiber yarns beautifully. When you're spending hours making something truly unique, your tools should match that intention.
Thrown one at a time on my pottery wheel in Indianapolis. Each one carries slight variations in form and finish because that's what happens when humans make things by hand.

Oven safe only if you put it into a cold oven before preheating to avoid temperature shock.
Decorative pottery for outdoors should be brought inside for freezing temperatures to ensure water doesn't freeze inside and cause cracking.
